Nancy M. Pendergast

Nancy M. Pendergast, age 70, wife of Fred J. Pendergast, Sr. of Sandy Hook died Thursday September 30, 2010 in Danbury Hospital. She was born in Union City, on May 30, 1940 a daughter of the late Francis X. and Anna C. (Yesinskas) Moss. Mrs. Pendergast was a graduate of St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Waterbury. She was a Registered Nurse at St. Mary's Hospital and at Fairfield Hills Hospital in Newtown. Mrs. Pendergast was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church and when her children were of school age, she volunteered at St. Rose School. Nancy also attended the Grace Christian Fellowship Church. She was a member of the St. Mary's School of Nursing Alumni Association. In addition to her husband of 47 years, Mrs. Pendergast is survived by her children, Fred Pendergast, Jr. of Sandy Hook, John Pendergast and his wife Heather of Sandy Hook, Michael Pendergast and his wife Marianne of Southbury, Thomas Pendergast and his wife Elizabeth, of New Milford, Margaret Keayes and her husband John of Newtown, Mary Granoski and her husband Robert of Sandy Hook and William Pendergast and his wife Maureen of Sandy Hook; a sister, Shirley Petschauer of Waynesboro, N.C.; 12 grandchildren, Shannon Lake, Catherine Pendergast, Brian Pendergast, Stephen Pendergast, Joshua Pendergast, Rebecca Pendergast, Kaitlyn Pendergast, Zach Keayes, Victoria Keayes, Lance Keayes, Wesly Keayes and Austin Keayes; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister, Frances Moss. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church Monday October 4, 2010 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown Sunday from 3 to 6 pm. Contributions in memory of Nancy M. Pendergast may be made to St. Rose School, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown.
