Christine Giordano Obituary

Christine Madelaine Giordano, age 61 of Bridgewater, died Monday, September 27, 2010 in Danbury Hospital. She is the beloved wife of Joe Giordano. Christine was born May 17, 1949 in Queens, N.Y., a daughter of the late Thomas Hoyt and Helene (Jung) Yeargin. She attended school in Thorn-wood, NY. Christine was employed as land use administrator for the Town of Roxbury for more than 15 years. She was an avid gardener, loved to swim and cook, but found the most joy came from simply playing with her grandchildren and spending time with her family. In addition to her husband Joe of 42 years, Christine is cherished by her son, Joseph S. Giordano III of New Fairfield, and his wife, Joanna; her daughter, Jessica Galbraith of New Milford, and her husband, James;three granddaughters, Mariella, Cecilia and Gianna; a grandson, Jimmy; and a soon to arrive grandchild, she affectionately called, "Lima Bean." She is also survived by two brothers, Bill and his wife, Loraine and Jim and his wife, Ellen; a sister, Ingrid and her husband, Greg; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held in the Colonial Funeral Home, 87 Park Lane Rd., New Milford on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. Family will receive friends in the Colonial Funeral Home, Wednesday afternoon from 2 until 4 and in the evening from 7 until 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of Christine Giordano to Danbury Hospital Development Fund Inc., 24 Hospital Ave., Danbury, and CT 06810.
