Anna Doherty Obituary

Anna M. Doherty, 82, of Sandy Hook, died peacefully Saturday, August 25, 2007, at her home.
Mrs. Doherty was the wife of the late Jack Doherty.
She was born in Danbury on May 6, 1925 a daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine (Cavanaugh) Griffin. Anna was a lifelong resident of Newtown and was a graduate of Newtown High School. She was a longtime Supervisor at Fairfield Hills Hospital until her retirement.
She was a member of the Newtown Senior Center. Anna loved quilting, her grandchildren, being with her friends at the Senior Center and her best friend, Doris.
Mrs. Doherty is survived by a son, Edward Doherty of Naugatuck, two daughters, Maureen A. Will and her husband, John of Sandy Hook and Patricia Ann Hubbs and her husband, David of Londonderry, N.H.; two granddaughters, Rhianna and Katherine Doherty; a sister, Rosalie Perruccio of Niantic; a nephew, Robert D. Knapp and his wife, Renee and their sons, John Daniel and Matthew all of Sandy Hook and a niece, Susan Knapp of Burlington, Vt. She was predeceased by a son, David Doherty.
A Graveside service will be held at St. Rose Cemetery on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown, Wednesday, August 29, 2007, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Contributions may be made to Canine Advocates of Newtown, Inc., P.O. Box 236, Newtown, CT 06470 or Bethel VNA, 1 School St., Bethel, CT 06801.
