Blanche Voutas Obituary

Blanche P. Voutas, 78, of Southbury, formerly of Danbury, wife of the late Andrew J. Voutas, died at her residence on Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Mrs. Voutas was born in Greenfield, Mass., daughter of John and Sophie (Bogulaski) Poliatis. She attended schools in Massachusetts. A resident of the area for the past 55 years coming from Brunswick, Maine, she was a retired telephone operator for the former SNET Co. Mrs. Voutas was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Danbury. She enjoyed gardening, animals, card and board games and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Mrs. Voutas is survived by a son, Bruce A. Voutas, Sr. and his wife, Barbara A. of Brookfield; a daughter, Diane Michaels and her husband, Charles of Smithtown, L.I., NY; three grandchildren, Bruce A. Voutas, Jr., Charles Michaels, Jr. and Andrew Michaels as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Voutas' memory and honor may be made to Regional Hospice of Western CT, Home Care Program, 405 Main St., Danbury, CT 06810. Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
