Gary Wamer Obituary

Gary L. Wamer, 59, of Lowell, Mass., entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 26, 2010. He was born October 11, 1951 in Warren, Ohio, the son of Jesse G. and Ruby Sechler Wamer. Gary was a graduate of Leavittsburg High School and continued his education with a B.S. in chemistry from Kent State University, a M.S. from Purdue University in analytical chemistry, and graduated from the University of Toledo Law School as class valedictorian. He had been employed at Arc Wright, Performance Indicator, Union Carbide and as Chief Patent Council and Associate for General Council at First Brands. Gary was also President and Chairman of the Board of First Brands Properties. Gary's specialization was in the area of patent law. Gary engaged in many leisure activities including hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, racquetball and running. Gary is survived by two sisters, Pamela (Michael) Morgan of Westerville and Darlene (Dominic) Bionci of Cortland, Ohio. He is also survived by a brother, Wayne Wamer of Silver Spring, Maryland and four nieces and nephews, Christopher and Heather Wamer and Eric and Jamie Morgan. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Dennis & Marvin. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday. Interment will be in Newton Falls West Cemetery.

I am shocked and saden by Gary's passing He was such a wonderful and thoughtful person truly one of a kind. He will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know him. The world has lost a great mind. My sincere sympathies go to his family and friends.

I am saddened to read the passing of Gary, I had worked with him many years at Union Carbide and then First Brands.

He was always a gentleman, gracious in his ability to be kind to all whom he came into contact with...a rare commodity in today's world!
