Gretchen Krake Obituary

Gretchen K. Krake of South Dennis, Mass. and Woodbury, died on November 4, 2010 at the McCarthy Care Center in East Sandwich, Mass. She was the widow of the late Leland W. Krake, Jr. She was born on October 23, 1933 in Watertown, the daughter of late Buell H. Klimpke and Frances K. Cunningham. She was the graduate of St. Margaret's School in Waterbury, as well as Western Connecticut State College with a Bachelor's degree in nursing. She was a visiting nurse in Connecticut and Cape Cod for many years. Gretchen enjoyed playing golf, and became a member of golf's hole in one club with her ace in 1992. She also enjoyed boating and playing bridge. Gretchen is survived by her daughter, Jane Hadad and husband, Chris of Woodbury; son, David Hotchkiss and wife, Diane of Bethel; son, D. Scott Hotchkiss of Athens, N.Y. She is further survived by her granddaughters, Jillian Hadad, Kirsten Hadad, Amanda Hadad, Jessica Delgado; step-grand-daughters, Megan Jenkins and Maren Dalton; two great-granddaugh-ters, Jayla and Lana Delgado. She is also survived by her sister, Cheryl Stoughton of Bantam. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Christ Church in Bethlehem. Burial will be held at the family's convenience. Donations may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Cape Cod or to Vista Vocational and Life Skills Center, Westbrook, CT.
