Katina Margellos Obituary

Katina "Ekaterina" Margellos, 79, of Bethel, died at her home on Sunday, September 19, 2010. Mrs. Margellos was born in Xeronomi, Greece, April 14, 1931, educated in Greece and emigrated to the United States in 1973. She was employed at American Family Crafts and at the Danbury Hospital prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church of Danbury. Mrs. Margellos was the wife of the late Spero Margellos. Mrs. Margellos is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Steve Filippakos and their children, Christina and Konstantine all of Bethel; a brother, John Biniaris and sister, Anastasia Papazisi both of Greece; and several nieces and nephews. The Rite of Burial took take place on Tuesday morning at 11:30 a.m. in the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury with the Rev. Peter Karloutsos, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. Contributions in Mrs. Margellos' honor and memory may be made to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
