Khyva A. Radzewicz

Khyva A. Radzewicz, 94, of New Milford, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2010, at home. She was the wife of the late Joseph D. Radzewicz, Sr. for 58 years. Khyva was born in Bridgeport, February 2, 1916,, daughter of the late Walter G. and Lydia Henion Adam. She moved to New Milford in 1920 and was a graduate of New Milford High School and a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, New Milford. Khyva served the Town of New Milford in the Tax Collector's office for 25 years. She was the Town's elected Tax Collector for 11 years, leaving the office in 1976. She went on to work in the Business office at Canterbury School for many years. She served the New Milford Democratic Town Committee for several terms with distinction. In 1969 she received a Certificate of Honor from the Democratic National Committee for her dedicated service to the community. She is survived by two sons, Joseph D. Radzewicz, Jr. and his wife Deborah of West Chester, PA. and James M. Radzewicz and his wife Marcia of Palm Harbor, FL.; and two grandchildren, Allison and Michael A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, New Milford.
