Martha Baiad Obituary

Martha Elizabeth "Beth" Baiad, age 84, of DeQuincy, La.,passed from this life November 19, 2010 at DeQuincy Memorial Hospital. She was surrounded by friends and family as she received her heavenly promotion. Born Martha Snider on November 9, 1926 in Bancroft, La., she met the love of her life, Joseph Baiad, in 1944 at Fort Polk, La., while he was training with the Army to fight in the European Theater in World War II. They married a short time later. Shortly after the conclusion of the war, she moved with her husband to Danbury, where she worked and retired from Sperry Products. After Martha and her husband had both retired, they moved to DeQuincy, La. in 1975, where she became a member of The Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. Martha will be remembered by all for her incredible faith and her powerfully anointed prayer life. She touched all that she met and she will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Joseph Baiad, her mother and father, Matilda and Zack Snider of Bancroft, La.; two sisters, Zelda Rainwater and Daisy Prince, both of DeQuincy; and two brothers, Bernice Snider and John Snider, both of Bancroft. She is survived by her two sons, Joseph D. Baiad and wife Lois, of Brookfield, and Herbert Baiad, of DeQuincy, La.; one sister, Pansy Travis of Orange, TX.; two grandchildren, Ryan Baiad and Tara Thompson, both of Moss Bluff, La.; and one great grandchild, Gunnar Thompson, also of Moss Bluff; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Hixson Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy, La at Noon on Sunday, November 21, 2010. Services will be at The Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy in DeQuincy, La., on Monday, November 22, 2010 under the direction of Hixson Snider Funeral Home. Revs. Guy Snider, Don Hollingsworth, and Jerry Gilland will officiate.
