Morris Brenner Obituary

Morris "Murray" Brenner, age 92, a resident of Danbury and Brookfield for 64 years, died on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Danbury Hospital. A loving husband, he was the husband of the late Grace (Slavin) Brenner for 64 years until her passing in September of 2008. Mr. Brenner was born in New Haven, November 19, 1917, son of Benjamin and Rose (Abrams) Brenner. He attended New Haven schools and graduated from New Haven Commercial High School, Class of 1935. A World War II Army veteran, serving from November 1943 through April 1946, he attained the rank of sergeant and was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Brenner, a dental lab technician, owned and operated Brenner Dental Lab based in Danbury from 1955 until his retirement in 1979. He served as a former secretary of the CT Dental Lab Association and was a recipient of their Distinguished Service Award. He was a member of the United Jewish Center of Danbury and the Jewish Men's Club. Mr. Brenner had an outgoing personality and known for his humor. He enjoyed travelling and practiced art as a hobby, especially sketching with charcoals as the medium. A generous and kind individual contributing time, talent and treasure, he will be sorely missed. A devoted father, Mr. Brenner is survived his children, Richard M. Brenner of Brookfield, Beth Ann Hughes of Tempe, Ariz. and Jane K. Brenner of New Hampshire; a sister, Evelyn Levine of Florida; and many nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside funeral services and burial will take place on Monday, October 18th, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the United Jewish Center Cemetery, Grey's Bridge Road, Brookfield with Rabbi Clifford Librach officiating. Contributions in Mr. Brenner's honor and memory may be made to the Jewish Home for the Aged, 169 Davenport Ave., New Haven, CT 06519. Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury is in charge of arrangements.

Richard, Babs and Jane, I am sad to hear of your dad's passing. I will always remember him as such a happy person and his love for always telling funny stories! Your parents were both such wonderful lifelong friends to my mom and dad and they miss them both greatly.
