It was my honor to have worked with Dr Blansfield both in the operating room and in his office. He was a kind, caring man, with a great big compassionate heart. Whoever needed his help got it. Henry was truly a rare bird. Putting aside his talent at making us laugh, the memory I cherish most about Hank was his strength of character when he fought for the provision of human services in the community of Danbury. It was my honor to have worked shoulder to shoulder with Henry, particularly on attempting to gain attention for innovative ways to combat substance abuse. Henry despised phonies. I so loved him for that! Rest In Peace, dear friend.

July 29, 2017

Dear Lorraine, Jim & Family,
From out of the area we send our heartfelt condolences, love & prayers for your loss & our loss as well.
A 'legend' has gone home to the Kingdom of GOD!
His respect & care for my FAMILY when we first arrived in America living on Grandview Ave, never accepting one cent, could never be repaid!
His 'humble' attitude towards everyone has always been an example for all of us to follow.
Doc is at peace now.
May GOD give you courage and strength to get through these very difficult days.
Rest in peace 'our' friend 'Doc'.
Love and prayers,
Tony & Joan Rizzo & Family

July 27, 2017

Many years ago Dr Blansfield came into Scalzo Appliance store on White St as I opened the door at 8 am. He had had a rough night as was obvious and as he looked at the clothes washers he said something to that I will never forget : "Don't let your kids ride a motorcycle" - he had had a trying time with a young man in a cycle accident that evening. Everyone respected and loved Henry and I have never forgotten that morning. Pete V Scalzo

Dear Mrs. Blansfield & Family Members:

Danbury has lost a great Danburian. As busy as he was with his own profession, he always found time help Danbury when called upon. His efforts have not gone unnoticed. He was a pioneer in the Medical profession here in Danbury, doing "new" then, what is now the norm. Thanks Doc for all that you did. I always enjoyed speaking with you, and will miss your laugh! Thanks for the great memories. Danbury is a better place because of your efforts.

I remember Doctor Blansfield fondly and can see that his was a life well lived . I was his steady caddie during the mid 50s and can recall how he took time to talk about my ambitions and offer advice . It seems like only yesterday when I was carrying his bag as well as that of his good friend Doctor Peter Jameson in the Ridgewood Country Club Member-Guest Tournament. God rest his soul and I will pray for him .

July 26, 2017

Lorraine and family, Very sorry to hear of Doc's passing he was a kind and gentle man who will be missed by many. I first met him as a caddy at the Ridgewood, later I played many rounds of golf with him. He was an inspiration to many of the boys who caddied there. He is now with his old foursome, Bill Ward, Jock McLean and Marty Green. I'm sure they are reliving old times and teeing it up. May he rest in Peace.
