Weldon Leon Crider, 74, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at Augusta Health.

He was born on October 14, 1936, the son of the late Thomas M. and Martha (Eaton) Crider.

Mr. Crider served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged after three years of duty. He retired from Southland Corporation, Harris Corporation and most recently Wal-Mart of Waynesboro.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching movies and most of all spending time with his family and his beloved dog Hope. Mr. Crider was also an avid Redskins fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include his loving wife, Peggy Crider; sons, Michael Crider and his wife, Donna, and Phillip Crider and his wife. Sonya, both of Waynesboro; daughters, Deborah Argenbright and her husband, Terry, of Greenville and Susan Brooks and her husband, Donnie, of Verona; grandchildren, Eric and Renee Crider of Waynesboro and Cortney Argenbright of Greenville; a sister, Goldie Crider of Bridgewater; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 West Main Street.

There will be no formal services held at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
