Alvin Randall Moomau, 74, of Greenville, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at Emeritus Memory Care.

He was born on January 8, 1936, in Augusta County, a son of the late Ralph Moore Sr. and Virginia (Vines) Moomau.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Moomau was owner/ operator of Moomau's Service Center and Arms Gas, Oil, and Heating Company. He was a member of Greenville United Methodist Church.

Family members include three daughters and sons-in-law, Fonda and Rick Perry, Gail and Scott Coyner, and Nedra and Ben Puckett, all of Stuarts Draft; two brothers, Ralph M. Moomau Jr. of Staunton and Lionel Moomau of Greenville; four sisters, Elaine M. Shifflett of Greenville, Dolly Hite of Yorktown, Crannie Campbell of Greenville, and Shannon Conley of Kingsland, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Travis Coyner and his wife, Lindsey, Justin Perry, Megan Coyner, Jason Perry, Skylar, Jonathan, Olivia, and Alex Puckett; and two great- grandchildren, Jayden Perry and Kylie Coyner.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Quinnlyn F. Moomau and Rothwell Moomau; and two sisters, Lorraine Miller and Nedra Zuane Moomau.

A graveside service will be conducted 4 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010, at the Greenville United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by the Reverend Earl Monroe.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Henry Funeral Home.

A special thanks to his sister, Crannie Campbell, for the love and care provided and to the staff of Emeritus Memory Care.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
