Barbara Rebecca Steinspring

Barbara Rebecca Steinspring, 86, of Waynesboro, passed away on Wednesday evening, December 1, 2010, at Augusta Health of Fishersville.

She was born on October 13, 1924, in Virginia, a daughter of the late Ernest Edward and Mary Viola Rosen Simantel.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro and was a lifetime member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, Alpha Chi Chapter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Wilson Steinspring; her sister, Mary Belle Slusser; and her brothers, Conrad and William Simantel.

She is survived by children, Richard C. Armstrong, Rebecca Cash and her husband, Jerry, Linda Rodeffer and her husband, Edward, and Patricia Rothermel; nine grandchildren, Travis and Lance Cash, Danielle and Darrin Rodeffer, Penny Gilbert, Candace Rankin, Charley, Spencer and Sammie Rothermel; eleven great-grandchildren, Evan, Dalton, and Lucas Cash, Justin Armstrong, Sarah Rankin, Taliesin, Jonas, and Lailie Zawhorodny, Zachary Spears and Katelyn Rodeffer, and Brennan Gilbert; and sisters, Ann Wagner and Doris Fergussen.

A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010, at Augusta Memorial Park.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church, 11th Street and Wayne Avenue, Waynesboro, with the Reverend Dr. Glen Holman officiating.

Friends may visit any time with the family, at the home of Rebecca Cash, 565 Kiddsville Road, Fishersville, VA 22939. Friends may also pay their respects, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Barbara's memory, to the Children's Ministry of First Presbyterian Church, 11th Street and Wayne Avenue, Waynesboro, VA 22980, or the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. 2600 Network Boulevard, Suite 300, Frisco, TX 75034.
