Cecil Gregory Obituary

Cecil H. Gregory Cecil H. Gregory, 89, of Waynesboro, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2010, at Augusta Health.

He was born on June 17, 1921, in Augusta County, the son of the late Howard Adam and Laura Ethel Sheppard Gregory.

Mr. Gregory was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from the Waynesboro DuPont Plant in 1978 after 33 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Gregory; a grandson, Stacy Pugh; two brothers, James Edward Gregory and Ernest Howard Gregory; and two sisters, Helen Virginia Gregory and Ethel Lawhorne.

He is survived by two daughters, Diana Compton and her husband, Kenneth, of Staunton, and Bonita Crawford and her husband, John, of Waynesboro; one granddaughter, Angela Grimm; four great-grandchildren, Paris Hutchinson, Amanda Drumheller, Heather Colvin and Natalie Grimm; one great-great-granddaughter, Maci Colvin; one sister, Uvamae Sprouse of Staunton.

A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor Randy Blankenship officiating.

The family will receive friends at the residence of his daughter, Bonita Crawford, 1225 Strawberry Lane, Waynesboro, VA 22980.

Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Waynesboro is serving the family and there will be no viewing or visitation at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dooms Volunteer Fire Department, P. O. Box 836, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
