Edward Wells Obituary
Edward Joel Wells, 73, of Durrette Town Road, Afton, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.
He was born on October 15, 1937, the son of the late Joel Samuel Wells and the late Ella Jane Durrette.
He was a choir member and a deacon at Union Baptist Church in Afton, Virginia, and retired from Mastic as a sanitation worker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda Jane Wells and one sister, the Reverend Amanda Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Zada Izetta Wells of Afton, Virginia; and one sister, Mary Govni of Hudson, Massachusetts.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010, at the Union Baptist Church in Afton, Virginia, with the Reverend PHillip A. Carter officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the church for viewing one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Lewis Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Virginia.
