Elizabeth Burns Obituary
Elizabeth Ann Burns, 63, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 7, 2010, at her residence.
She was born on February 12, 1947, in Waynesboro, to the late James William Awkard and the late Elizabeth Ann Jones.
She was employed with McKee Foods Corp and was a member of Union Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger and Anthony Awkard.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Marchetta Henderson and her husband, David, Tonya Loving and her husband, Bryant, Yolanda Burns and Pamela Burns; grandchildren, Corey Burns, Danielle Henderson, Tajhrae Barber, Alexis Hite and Taraji Brown; a great- grandchild, Kevon Goffney; and two brothers, James William Awkard and Stacy Jones.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010, at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Pastor Donald Winston Johnson.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010, at the funeral home.
