William Ellinger Obituary

William Boyd Ellinger STAUNTON

William Boyd Ellinger, 69, husband of Joyce Ann (Painter) Ellinger, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at the Shenandoah House of Augusta Health of Fishersville.

He was born on March 3, 1941, in Staunton, a son of the late Harry Spencer and Minnie (Harlow) Ellinger.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Ellinger was a dry wall worker. He loved playing music with his friends.

In addition to his wife, whom he married on January 15, 1972, family members include a step-daughter, Patty Harvey and her husband, Kenny; a step-grandson, Brendon Harvey; and uncle and aunt, Mark and Dot Harlow; a brother, Harry E. Ellinger; a sister, Janet Delores Ellinger; and cousins and nieces, all of Staunton.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Marcum; a brother-in-law, Howard Marcum; a brother, Garland Ellinger; a niece and two nephews, Pam and Joshua V. Kothbauer and Howard Marcum; and his father and mother-in-law, Royce and Betty Painter.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Reverend Harold W. "Pete" Campbell. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be David Kimbell, Jeff King, Kenny Harvey, Eddie Haily, Junior Haily, and Mickey Taylor.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2010, at the funeral home.

To the family of Bill, so sorry to hear of his death tho' he told me he was ready to go. I'am sorry, I could not attend, but am in K.D Nursing Home, for I fell and broke my pelvis & am in here for a few more weeks. My thoughts & prayers go out to you all. Ann Johnson..........
