Drexel Evans Obituary

Drexel T. Evans, 69 CLAYTON - Drexel T. Evans, departed this life March 1, 2010, at Kent General Hospital. He was born in Smyrna, to the late Reba and James Brown. He worked as a veterinarian at Jeters Hospital for over 30 years until his retirement for health reasons. His favorite past-time was caring for animals, hunting and watching cowboy movies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Priscilla Evans Wilson, and two brothers, James C Evans and Wendall R Evans. He leaves to mourn seven daughters, Ronah Marshall, Carlet Clarke, both of Dover, Veronica Mesumbe, Maryland, Dhonyale Evans, Nicole Evans, Cassandra Evans of New Castle, Nicole Simmons of Smyrna; and a son Drexel Evans, California. Sisters, Patricia Watson, Gloria Brown of Wilmington, Laurtrica Brown of Smyrna, Angilica Jacob of Rehoboth; a brother Lorenzo Evans of Wilmington; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends. Funeral Services will be at 12 p.m., Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Bibleway Temple Church of God In Christ, 56 S, Kirkwood Street, Dover, where friends may call two hours prior. Donations can be sent to Bennie Smith Funeral Home, c/o Drexel Evans, 717 W. Division Street, Dover, De 19904. Interment will be private.
