Cassandra Rigby Jones

MARYDEL - Cassandra "Cassie" Rigby Jones of, Marydel, passed on Wednesday Sept.15, 2010. She was 11. Cassie was born Feb. 9, 1999, to David Christopher Jones and Sandra Lee "Chrissie" Rigby - Jones. She was a student at Fred Fifer Middle School this year but had previously been a student at Holy Cross Catholic School. Cassie was a member of the Westville 4-H Club and raised and showed dairy goats. She loved to play softball and played for the Lynn Deakens softball team and won the Delaware District One Championship in 2009. Cassie was also on the St. Thomas Moore Little Ravens Wrestling team. She enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies and Pittsburgh Steelers' and was a big fan of both teams. Cassie survived by her parents, David Jones of Magnolia and Sandra "Chrissie" Rigby-Jones of Marydel; her brother, Zachary Jones of Magnolia; her maternal grandparents, Grover "Duck" and Chrystyna Rigby of Marydel; paternal grandfather, Chuck Jones and his wife Vicki of Camden; paternal grandmother, Christine Ely Spence and her husband Rick of Marydel; uncles, Jeff Rigby and his wife Renee, Mike Rigby and his wife Robin all of Marydel; aunt, Melinda Wieber and her husband John of Marydel; cousins, Jason, Jenna, Ryan, Andrew Rigby, Alex, Austin, Sarah Wieber, Aliesha Gardner and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and dear friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Monday Sept. 20, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 522 Main Street, Marydel. Friends may call from 6-8 Sunday evening at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Hartly/Marydel Little League 185 first state road, Marydel, DE 19964.
