Laura Capen Obituary

CAPEN, LAURA K. In Branford ,October 15, 2011, Laura Knowlton Capen, beloved wife of Charles C. Capen of Branford. She was born July 3, 1923 in Branford, daughter of the late Friend M. and Luva Dolph Knowlton. She worked for 20 years as a secretary at the New Haven Railroad, and after that she worked for 20 years for the Branford Board of Education in the transportation office until retiring in 1987. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Myles E. (Wilma) Capen of Aliquippa, PA, and Ross D. (Celeste) Capen of Milford, CT; a grandson, Carl C. (Ashley) Capen of Aliquippa; a sister, Fern Crouse of Aurora, CO; a niece, Jill Wood, and a nephew, Mitch Crouse. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of her family. The W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford is in charge of arrangements. See obit @www.wsclancy.com.

Dear Charles and family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I was sorry to hear the news today of Laura's passing. I feel so honored though having had the time to spend with you and Laura during her last few weeks. She was blessed to have such a wonderful and devoted family. Much love to you all.
