As a fellow native New Havener, I began to see more of Frank after graduation than before, and we would spend time — and have fun — recalling together the New Haven that we had known in the 1930s and 1940s, a far different city from the present one, and even from the one we knew as undergrads.
Frank loved New Haven, as I did (and do) for the ambience it summoned up from the days of our youth.
Over later years, I wrote a lot of history of the Class of '48 — "We of'48" — and Frank seemed to enjoy making valuable contributions to what I had to say.

Tim and I just heard today (January 4) of Frank's death, thanks to a mutual friend. We are very sorry and very sad about losing him. You, Mary Ann, are in our prayers. Give our love to your whole family. Thinking of you. Wow, what a change. I hope his leave-taking was gentle. Much love, Sue and Tim
