Ellen Willey Obituary

WILLEY, ELLEN SUZANNE Ellen Suzanne Willey (nee Klingbeil), age 57, of Old Saybrook, passed away Sunday, (May 27, 2012) at the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven Hospital. Beloved wife of Donald Willey, beloved daughter of the late Archie and Evelyn Klingbeil; and beloved daughter of the late Walter Gehweiler, began her life on November 20th, 1954. Along with her husband she is survived by her children Christopher, and Aleksandra; sister Lisa, and brother Mark; brother and sisters in law Anne, Jim, and Lynn; nieces and nephews Kiersten, Olivia, Emily, and Quint. Ellen is also survived by the pets she adored ever so much, Montague and Isola; who with their kind, and loving personalities became as much a part of the family as any person ever could. One of Ellen's biggest joys in life was Antiquing. Her business, Northern Manners Antiques, which stemmed from her long time hobby of collecting, became one of her favorite projects in her life. This, in addition to decorating her homes with such pieces; truly helped make her life a work of art. The beautiful pieces will forever be evidence of the life she lived, and the mark it will leave on all that knew her. Ellen lived her life with passion. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. Her memory will live forever in our hearts. God could not have given us a better gift. A private memorial will be arranged, and notices will be sent once specific details are known.

It is with great sadness I write this condolence. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. We will never forget Ellen's generosity. It was always a joy to work with her on school projects at Shoreline Christian School and to be in a carpool with her and Alexandra.May the Peace of God that passes all understanding be with you at this time.

I did not realize how special Ellen's friendship was to me until I learned of Her passing. I feel remiss in that I let time get between us. She brightened up my day and those of our friends at the dog park. I wish I could have said goodbye to you and I will cherish your memory until we meet again in paradise
