ROBERT BURT Obituary

BURT, ROBERT AMSTERDAM Robert Amsterdam Burt, Professor of Law at Yale University, died on August 3 in Becket, Massachusetts. He died during his daily swim in the pond near his summer home. He was 76 years old. Bo Burt was born February 3, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA, to Samuel and Esther Burt. He married Linda Rose on June 14, 1964, in New York City. They have two daughters, Anne Burt Feuerzeig of Montclair, NJ, and Jessica Burt Donohue of Eugene, OR. Bo was on faculty at Yale Law School for 38 years and became Emeritus Professor on July 1, 2015. In addition to his wife and daughters, Bo is survived by his brother, Jeffrey Burt, his sister, Carolyn Burt, his sons-in-law, Craig Feuerzeig and Jesse Donohue and his granddaughters Tessa Ury, Delayna Feuerzeig, and Ella Donohue. Funeral Services will be held on THURSDAY at 11:00 o’clock at the Robert E. Shure Funeral Home, 543 George St. New Haven, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A period of mourning will be observed at the family’s home at 66 Dogwood Circ. Woodbridge following the service until 7pm, Friday and Saturday from 4 until 7pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law. 1101 15th Street, NW, Suite 1212.
