William Leist Obituary



LEIST

William Joseph, also known as "Billy Blank" to many, passed away unexpectedly Sun, Dec 28th, 2014. He was a radio personality, rock promoter, as well as frontman in his band "The Reduced". He was very well known in the Cincinnati area for his work with The Jockey Club and music scene of Newport, Kentucky, as well as numerous other music venues in the greater Cincinnati area. He was an avid music lover and was loved by many. He is proceeded in death by parents Elmer "Pete" Leist, and Cordelia "Dee" Leist. He is survived by daughter Rachel Leist of San Diego, CA, and longtime cosmic companion Emily Hering. The Southgate House Revival, 111 East Sixth Street, Newport will be holding an auction at 5:00pm to help cover memorial costs on Fri, Jan 23. A memorial service and celebration of Bills life will be proceeding at the Southgate Revival House from 3:45pm-8:00 pm with live music to follow. Flowers or donations may be sent Friday to the Southgate House. Graveside services will be held on Sat, Jan 24 at 10:45am at St. Stephens Cemetery. "For the music is your special friend - Dance on fire as it intends - Music is your only friend - Until the end" by The Doors. Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Newport serving the family.

It's never good to hear that a loved one has passed. I didn't hear about it until sometime later and did not get to make it to the funeral. i couldn't have asked for a better uncle. you will be missed and i love ya buddy.

5:00-7:30: Auction in the southgate revival house

Saturday 1/24:
10:45 meet at gates of St. Stephens.
11:00-11:30- graveside funeral
3:45-8:00- memorial and life celebration in the southgate revival house lounge.

Thank you for all of the support and love for my dad. Looking forward to meeting all of those he loved so much.
