Elsie Turner, 68, of Newport, KY passed away at her residence March 2, 2013. She was born in Breathitt County, KY May 10, 1944 to Beckham and Sally Herald Turner. She taught in the Newport Independent Schools for 27 years and retired in 2001. She Coached and was an avid Sports Fan. Elsie was also a Member of the Macedonia Old Regular Baptist Church. She leaves behind her Husband; Wilburn B. Turner. Son; Shawn Neal (Barbara Jean) Turner and Daughter April Denise (Donald) Schnelle. Brother; Oakley Turner (and Special Friend Beverly Greenfield). Sister; Mae (Ralph) Watkins. 4 Grandchildren Kylyn & Ian Schnelle and Seth & Alexa Turner. Visitation will be held at Cooper Funeral Home, Monday, March 4, 2013 from 4-8pm. Services will be held on Tuesday, at the Funeral Home at 10am with Rev. Patrick Turner, Rev. James Aaron Turner, and Rev. Jesse Turner. Graveside Services will be held at 2:30pm at Turner Milldam Cemetery in Breathitt County.Online condolences may be left for the family at www.cooperfuneralhome.net

May Elsie be blessed with the eternal happiness she so richly deserves. I remember subbing for Elsie a long time ago in Newport Schools. She helped so many with those Math problems!!
