We have been gone a few days, and upon returning, one of the first items I read was Gene's obituary. We grew up on farms about two miles apart. He was older than I,but I thought it was special when he taught and coached for a year (or two) starting when I was a freshman at Wales, his boyhood school. I always admired him, and enjoyed conversations when our paths would occasionaly cross.

To Gene's family--
I have such fond memories of Gene coaching our little league basesball teams. Marcie was always there along with Greg and Debbie who were not much more that toddlers. We won several county championships--but he taught us much much more than how to throw a baseball. Gene was a man of integrity and class. My mom, Katherine Adams, taught under Gene--she both admired him and respected him.
We will miss you, Gene.
Love,
Keith Adams

To the Gene Evans family, he was a very good man, teacher and coach. Gene taught me more about sports and sportsmanship than anyone. Like so many others,I am very thankful he was part of my life.

To the Gene Evans family, we extend to you our deepest sympathies in Gene's passing. I am thankful that I had him as a coach and teacher while I was at Logan. God Bless you all.
