Elizabeth "Betsy" Newton Evans, 83, of Fort Thomas, passed away on December 31, 2025. Betsy was born in Covington Kentucky on August 28, 1942 to Robert and Sarah Ross Evans. She graduated from Highlands High school, received her BA of education from the University of Kentucky and her masters from the University of Michigan. She worked devotedly as a teacher in Warren, Michigan for many years. After retiring from teaching, she moved back to Fort Thomas to care for her elderly parents. She was involved in many things with her community. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, DAR, Fort Thomas Women's Club, and the Cosmopolitan Club. She performed with The Village Players and was a mentor for education students at Northern Kentucky University.
She was a world traveler, gifted singer, avid crocheter, and loved her cats.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert V Evans Sr, her mother Sarah Ross Evans; her brothers, John (Jan) Evans, Robert V Evans Jr., Calvin Evans, nephew, Todd Evans, and niece Cece Wall. Betsy is survived by her sister, Sallie Anne Evans, nieces, Debbie (Bob) Day and Susan (Mike) Redmond, nephews Scott (Lois) Evans, Tim (Terry) Evans, Nat (Susan) Evans.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 1 PM to 2 PM with a memorial service beginning at 2 PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Thomas, 220 S. Fort Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas, KY Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery Monday, January 12, 2O26 at 12:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Fort Thomas Education Foundation, the Village Players or the Campbell County Animal Shelter. Online condolences can be given at www.dmefuneral.com.
