It was our pleasure to get to know Darren when he was friends with our daughter Carolyn while a student at Rutgers. He always had a beautiful smile and was so much fun to be around. We are so very sorry that his life was cut so short- he certainly didn't deserve it. We extend our deepest sympathies to his parents as well as to his family, friends, and loved ones. May he rest in peace. Darren, you will be sorely missed.

Words do little to summarize how tragic Darren's loss is. I spent many evenings engaged in witty banter, engaging political discussion to Rutgers memories to sharing two Giants super bowl celebrations with Darren.

I've always admired Darren and welcomed his company. He had a wonderfully pleasant combination of brains and charisma. The world is a lesser place without him in it.

My lasting memory is with Darren and his father, Jimmy. Many may say it, but Jimmy and Darren were the epitome of how a father and son can share a friendship. I cannot fathom Jimmy's pain right now as I think how wonderful it would be if I have that same bond with my son as he grows.

It is with my deepest condolences to Darren's parents, family and the New Milford community with this loss.

The sadness we are feeling is indescribable. I cannot imagine what you are going through. Seeing you on tv and being so humbled by your forgiving nature, now I understand why Darren was as wonderful as he was. I honestly believe God needed another angel. Your son touched all of us with his kindness and helpful nature. He made us happy. God needed that it seems. Mr and Mrs Drake please know that you had done a wonderful job as parents. I will miss him terribly. I hope he is smiling now as he always did.

Dear Mr & Mrs Drake,

Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Darren as one of my customers at Moody's. He was kind. smart, funny, and always had a smile on his face - just like you've said in your interviews. The grace and forgiveness you have demonstrated throughout this very public ordeal is humbling, and a powerful testimony to your faith. My thoughts and prayers are with you, his friends, and his co-workers.

Mr. & Mrs. Drake,

My deepest and most sincere Condolences. I had the privilege to work with Darren and I cannot think of a single time where our conversations didn't make us laugh or at least smile. In an intense office with a lot going on, Darren was a breath of fresh air. He took it all in stride and made it work no matter how hard the jobs was, with a big smile which became his signature. He touched so many people in different ways and I will always remember his smile and laughter both at the office or out having a beer after work. He will be greatly missed, may his memory be eternal.

Darren was one of the nicest, hardest working colleagues I have ever had. He was so well loved and regarded here at Moody's and had a very bright future ahead of him. We are all at a loss at this tragic event that has taken our team member too soon.

My thoughts to his parents and family, I hope you find solace in that he touched so many lives in such a positive way.

I'm glad I got to know him - he really made work fun and made me laugh every day. You will be missed my friend.

Dear Mr. and Mr.s Drake,
I am so very sorry for your tragic loss, of your son Darren. I read your comments in the paper/ online and cannot imagine your grief. I have a "perfect son" as well and don't know what I would do in your shoes. I am praying for your entire family and pray that God heals the pain you are going through and helps you find peace as you deal with your terrible, senseless loss.
