Pompea Consolo Obituary
Pompea M. (nee Lupani), 89, of Hawthorne on May 11, 2013. Born in Lomello, Italy, she came to this country in 1951, settling in Union, NJ. She has resided for the last three years in Hawthorne. Before retiring she was employed as a seamstress with Blaustein Furs of Millburn. She was a former parishioner of Holy Spirit RC Church in Union.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband George Consolo in 2009, and by her brother Gus Lupani. Survivors include her loving daughter Yvonne Wassel and husband Steve and loving son John Consolo. There are three adoring sisters Anita Lupani, Lydia Lupani and Lucille Oliver surviving. She leaves behind two cherished grandsons, Michael and Bryan Wassel.
Funeral Mass Wednesday, at 11 AM, at Holy Spirit RC Church, (971 Suburban Road), Union, NJ. Entombment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Visiting Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at Browning-Forshay, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pompea's memory to Susan G. Koman Foundation, 44 Middle Avenue (second floor), Summit, NJ 07901, would be appreciated. www.browningforshay.com

Our sincerest condolences to everyone in "Zia's" family. Debra and Sandra have spoken so beautifully over the years about their Zia and I feel like I know her.
