Gustav Casper Obituary

CASPER - Gustav A., 76 of Ridgewood, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday January 14, 2003. Born in Teanack, NJ, Mr. Casper was a Naval veteran of World War II, a member of the Bergen County Republicans Club, the Boat Jumpers of Hackensack, and the Republican National Committee. Prior to his retirement he had been the owner
operator of Gus Casper Inc., aka Casper Elevator in Ridgewood. He is survived by his children Janis Offringa of NY, Rolf Casper of NC, Knute Casper of NY, and Kurt Casper of NC. Also surviving are eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Jean (nee MacIntyre) in 1995. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday January 17th from 2-4 and 7-9 at the C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home 306 East Ridgewood Ave. Ridgewood, NJ 07450. Interment will be private. Arrangements entrusted to the C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home Ridgewood. www.vanemburgh.com.

Some peolple you remember for a long time, some people you forget. Gus was the remembering kind of person. Even though I left Rite Aid(his pharmacy for a long time) and Ridgewood I remembered him well and as a matter of fact I was talking to one of my old Ridgewood buddies a few weeks ago about him and what a good man he was and now this!
