I met Carolyn Haines in 1968 while she was teaching first grade and it was my first year in Tenaflyteaching third grade at Mc Kay School. I remember riding with Carolyn in her yellow Mustang convertible which I loved. She was a wonderful friend and will be missed.

I will always remember this sweet and lovely lady as "Miss Haines" my first grade teacher. I also knew and miss her husband Mr. Weldon. She was very kind and patient with me when I had dark times in my childhood. All of us little rascals in her classes had an innocent "crush" on her and wanted to grow up and marry someone just like her. She must be in Heaven looking down on all of us who remember her so fondly, I was very happy that she remembered me after 50 years, I know I will always remember her.

This lovely lady will always be "Miss Haines" to me, even though I also was a pupil of her late lamented husband, Mr. Weldon (RIP). She was a sweet and gentle woman and was a bright light in my painful childhood. All of us little rascals in her classes had an innocent "crush" on her, we all wanted to grow up and have a wife like her. Everyone who knew her must miss her as much as I do.

Carolyn was a wonderful colleague and friend. Always good company, next to the pleasure of seeing Carolyn was the pleasure of seeing her handwriting. No one created a better plan book or sent more beautiful letters. Rest in peace.
