Vincent Sisto Obituary

Vincent Donald Sisto, 66, of Belvidere, died on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born in Newark, he lived in Nutley and Hope before moving to Belvidere nine years ago. He served on the Nutley Police Force from 1968-1971 and then on the Nutley Fire Department from 1971-1985. He became the town's first fire inspector, a position that was created during his tenure with the department.

A dedicated and passionate sports fan, his playful nature will be missed by all who knew him. He was a giving, generous man who loved his family deeply. Vincent is survived by his wife Lois (Dietz) Sisto; his children Traci Sisto-Robalino and her husband, Joseph, Vincent Sisto Jr., and Daniel Sisto; his granddaughters Ava and Ella Robalino; his sisters Cheryl Restaino, Beverly Raphael, Bonnie Salerno, Joy Codella, and his brother Benjamin Sisto and his many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was to be held on Friday, Jan. 6 at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, swbrownandson.com, 267 Centre St. in Nutley. Visitors were to be received at the funeral home on from 5 p.m. until service time. The cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, New Jersey Metro Chapter, 1 Kalisa Way, Suite 205, Paramus, NJ 07652 would be preferred.
