SCHINDEL
Arnold, age 93, of Fair Lawn, formerly of Paterson, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016. Husband of the late Beulah J. (nee Spiegel). Father of the late Barbara A. Schindel of New York City and David E. Schindel of Bethesda, MD. Grandfather of Emily Becker Patten and Cassandra Becker. Great-grandfather of Kathryn and Bryony Patten. First in his family to attend college, graduate of Cooper Union, B.S., 1943; Stevens Institute of Technology, M.S., 1948; holder of more than 20 patents; decorated WWII Veteran and Prisoner of War. Respected by all who knew him. Services private. Arrangements by Louis Suburban Chapel, Fair Lawn, NJ.

The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art is proud to count Arnie Schindel among our graduates and we mourn his passing. We also honor the sacrifices he and so many others others made on our behalf during World War II where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. The accompanying photo shows Arnie at his Cooper Reunion this past June. To all who read this, please accept our heartfelt condolences and sympathy for the shared loss of our mutual friend.
