Frank McElderry Obituary

McELDERRY
Frank T., 77, of Norwood, passed away at home on April 26th surrounded by his loving family. Frank was a generous, kind and loving family man with a great sense of humor. He will always be remembered for his devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren.
Cherished husband of 55 years to Lorraine (nee Marchese). Loving father to Frank E. McElderry of Boca Raton FL, Tom McElderry and his wife Corrine of Tappan, NY and Kerry Guerriero and her husband Neil of Harrington Park. Devoted "Paco" to his adoring grandchildren Caitlin, Bailey, Shannon, Thomas, Mary, Kevin and Kayla. Dear brother to James McElderry and his wife Maureen of Ramsey and Larry Brown and his wife Joanne of The Bronx, NY, loving brother in law to Marilyn Lutz of Whiting and dear uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
Frank was born in Dumont in 1938 and then moved to The Bronx when he was a young child. He remained in the Bronx until he joined the Army and served his country in the Korea. When he returned from Korea, he married his beloved wife Lorraine in 1961 and moved to Tappan, NY in 1965. With three young children and a full time job, Frank still found the time to obtain his Bachelor's Degree from Manhattan College and his Master's Degree from Pace University. He was a District Manager for Con Edison in Westchester County for 30 years. He lived in Tappan for 37 years before moving to Norwood. After retiring, Frank pursued numerous hobbies including car repair, home improvements, organizing anything he could get his hands on and watching his grandchildren participate in sports and dance recitals. He loved to drive to Florida and spend time in the warm weather.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave, Northvale, on Thursday, April 28th from 2-4 and 7-9. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 29th at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Church on Paris Avenue in Northvale. Interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY.

My best friend way back when! Frank will be missed in many ways as he was a large part of my growing up days. Memories of him will always be in our hearts. We will miss you. God be with your family.

I worked with Frank in Westchester and he was very caring and helpful. A really nice and fun guy. May God bless him.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
