David Close Obituary

David S., 72, of Pompton Lakes passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 14, 2012. Born in Paterson, raised in Oakland, he lived in Pompton Lakes for the past 40 years. David proudly served in the US Air Force where he fell in love with aircraft and world travel. He was employed by Pan American World Airways for 30 years until their demise, and later Murphy Bus Service until his retirement two years ago. Beloved brother of the late Kenneth, David is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sylvia, adoring daughters Lori Close, Lisa Testino and her husband Tony, cherished grandchildren Emma and Ryan, brother Edwin, sister Pat Linne, sisters-in-law Shirley Close and Kathleen Greenwood, brother-in-law Wayne Simpson, nieces Erica, Devan, Karen, Ava, Debbie, Kelly, Melissa, Julia, nephews Kenneth, Talon, Brett, Chris, Corey, Rusty, Glen and Ted, and his dog pals Jake and Minnie. He was predeceased by his brother Kenneth. The joys of his life were his children, grandchildren, and attending air shows. David was a kind, caring, and giving person, devoted to his family. He will be always loved and greatly missed by his friends and family.
Funeral Service Tuesday 8:30 PM at the Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale, NJ. Visitation Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Cremation private.
