George BARSA Obituary

BARSA George W., 86, a longtime Demarest resident, on Thursday, November 12, 2009. Beloved husband of Louise (nee Horafios). Devoted father of Marilyn and Dr. Anthony Ram of Teaneck, Mayor James and Gena Barsa of Norwood, Kathy Barsa and Peter Ryan of Montgomery, NY, and Paul Barsa of Demarest. Adoring grandfather of Adrianna, Lauren, Kristin, and Jessica. Predeceased by one sister Georgette Trabolsi. He is also survived by many other loving relatives. Mr. Barsa was a graduate of Notre Dame and one of their most loyal football fans. He was a World War II Navy veteran before working as Chief Financial Officer for Galbreath-Ruffin Corp., in New York City for 30 years. His greatest achievement was in the way he loved his family and wasn't afraid to show it. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Demarest at 11 AM. Visiting hours are Sunday 7- 9 PM and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Anthony R. Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Avenue, Northvale (201-767-3050). Contributions may be made to the Demarest or Norwood Volunteer Ambulance Corps or Alzheimer's Association, NY Chapter, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
