My brother Denis was an honorable man. He was devoted to his wife and children. His love for his family is no surprise. Denny learned love and loyalty from our parents and siblings, who cherished him. Moma said he was "an angel." My perception of Denny, the man, is captured in a brief encounter we had shortly after Christmas: Nurses had just transferred him from the bed to a chair; he was clearly worn out, exhausted. I kissed him and told him how much I loved him. He nodded and whispered, "I feel like 100." I acknowledged his suffering and responded, "You can always let go, give up..." He mouthed, "Only punks give up!" During this time together, I thanked him for being such a good brother, for his love and support during extremely tough times. He gently responded, "That's my job." Tearfully, I squeezed his hand and said, I hate to see you suffering like this...I wish it was me instead of you." With a smirk and a twinkle, he mouthed, "So do I!" We laughed. Denny was a man of faith and integrity; he had joy, perseverance, humility, a sense of duty, and wit. I miss and love him forever. You fought the good fight, sweet brother. Spread those wings and soar with angels! NURSEY

John, Adriana, Nina and Nick,
Charlotte and I are so sorry for your loss. John, your father sounded like an amazing man. How fortunate he had such a wonderful large family and you for a son. He must have adored Adriana, Nina and Nick. We will say a prayer for you all and your mom. God Bless.

My grandfather was one of my favorite people. He came over every Sunday for breakfast and for every single birthday. He was always full of love, jokes, and happiness. I will miss him forever.

Uncle Denny will be missed by all. He was always in good humor and had something nice to say. When my dad (his brother Mike) died he was a great comfort to my children and I. I know they are together again with the rest of their clan in eternal peace.
