JOHNSTON
Ruth Elinor, 76, of Paterson, NJ, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, October 8th, 2016. She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched. She was compassionate, caring, generous and kind. She was a faithful prayer warrior. She leaves behind one brother, Charlie, of South Carolina and many cousins.
Ruth was a brilliant woman, graduating high school with a full scholarship to NYU where she attended for a year, transferred to The King's College, Briarcliff Manor, NY, majored in Biology and graduated in 1962. After college she worked for Union Carbide in its Consumer Products Division, attended graduate school at the University of Delaware and then joined the research staff of Langone Medical Research Center at NYU from 1973 until retirement in 2012.
Ruth attended Grace Bible Church in North Haledon, NJ, having been among its original members beginning at Park Avenue church in 1954. At just fourteen years old she began teaching Sunday school and continued doing so for many, many years.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Bible Church, 369 High Mountain Rd, North Haledon, NJ on Saturday, October 29th, 2016 at 2 PM. All are welcome to come celebrate the life of this wonderful woman. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Bible Church Missions Fund.
