Nancy Razen Mandell

Nancy Razen Mandell passed away on Wednesday, December 27th at St. Mary's Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey. She was 77 years old. She was born at Passaic General Hospital on June 19, 1940 to Louis and Muriel (Steinberg) Razen of Clifton, New Jersey. After graduating from Clifton High School with honors, she attended Smith College in North Hampton, Massachusetts. Her love of English, arts and theater led her to pursue a career in journalism. Nancy was a talented writer working as movie reviewer for the Newark Star Ledger after college. In 1969, she married Kennard Mandell and the couple moved to Wellesley, Massachusetts where they started a family and raised two beautiful daughters. She relocated back to Clifton in 1993 to be closer to her mother and sister. She continued her writing career working for the Jewish Standard and various financial trade publications. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and daughter. She loved travelling, movies, and the arts. She would frequently venture into New York City to see a play or ballet. She is survived by her two children Rebecca (Doug) and Meredith and her beloved granddaughter Cecilia Jaraczewski. Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Louis; mother, Muriel and sister, Jacqueline. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, 841 Allwood Road, Clifton, NJ. Burial will follow at the Menorah Cemetery in Clifton.
