My condolences to the McGovern family. I had the privilege of knowing Howard as a member of Hackensack Golf Club in the 1980's. He was a fine man and a friend to all who knew him. God bless his family and the legacy he leaves.

It is a pleasure to have had the opportunity to know Howard. He leaves behind an incredible legacy. His influence on the family is as obvious as it is wonderfully positive. We recognize his good-hearted nature as a McGovern trait of which we are sure he was most proud to see exibited by his children. Our prayers and thoughts go out to all of the McGoverns and friends of Howard. We share in your loss of a great man.

With deepest sympathy on the passing of a legendary gentleman. Mr. McGovern's legacy as a true giant in the history of Bergen Catholic HS is assured -- as his place in so many hearts and minds as a devoted and caring family man, friend and leader. God grant him eternal peace -- and grant us the grace to follow in his path.
