James Fonder Obituary
James "Jimmy," 64 of Tenafly, NJ died peacefully at home with love ones by his bedside on April 30th, 2012. Formerly from Haworth, resided there for approximately 37 years before relocating to Tenafly to live with his brother Steven's family this past January, 2012.
Jimmy was the proud owner of All Body Cyclery and Weight Lifting, 11 Homans Avenue in Closter, NJ where he served the community for over 40 years. James was a member and on the board of the Northern New Jersey German Shepherd Dog Club. Previous member of the Tenafly Fire Department and a graduate of Teaneck High School.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Edward Fonder, his mother, Estelle Fonder and brother, Jack Fonder.
Loving brother of Steven Fonder of Tenafly, sister-in-law Patricia Fonder, uncle to Daniel Fonder and his wife Susan of Scotch Plains, NJ, Dr. Margo Fonder of Providence, RI, Gregory Fonder and his wife Megan of Medford, NJ and Michael Fonder of Princeton, NJ. Grand uncle to Matthew and Taryn Fonder of Scotch Plains. Proud owner of German Shepherds Owen, Kong and Blitz.
Visitation Friday, May 4th from 6-9 PM. Funeral Service, Saturday at 10 AM at Moritz Funeral Home 348 Closter Dock Rd. Closter, NJ by Pastor Holston. Burial will be at the Rockland Cemetery, 201 Kings Highway, Sparkill, NY 10976 by Piermont, NY - Jimmy favorite place to visit with his dogs.
A special thank you to Jo Jo Rodriguez and her sister-in-law Hanna for assisting with Jimmy's care, his friends from high school, his loyal customers and the German Shepherd Dog Club who loved him so dearly. 12 years later, and I still think of Jimmy just about every day. Thanks for making me laugh uncontrollably, and being such a loyal friend.

Jimmy was a close friend for over 50 years. I think about him every day. Even if you were having a bad day Jimmy could make you laugh hysterically. I miss him terribly.

I am so very saddened to lose my dear friend, Jimmy. He was the funniest person I have ever met in my life, and would stop at nothing to make someone laugh. Rest in peace, Jim. We'll laugh again one day.
