William Friend Obituary

FRIEND
William M., 77, of Clifton passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014.
William was born and raised in Clifton and resided there his entire life. He was a partner in the law firm of Friend and Friend for fifty years before retiring in January of2013. William was the Valedictorian of the 1954 class of Clifton High School, after which he received his B.A. degree from Colgate University, a Master's Degree from Harvard University and his Law Degree from Yale University in 1963. His parents, Israel Friend and Bess Friend predeceased him, as did his sister Rosalind and his Brother, Richard. He is survived by his brothers, Herbert Friend (Marjorie), of Somerset, New Jersey and Gerald Friend (Frances), of Clifton, New Jersey and his sister-in-law, Dolores Friend of Fort Lee, New Jersey. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces, Michael Friend, Deborah Friend, Robert Friend, Douglas Friend, Jodi Friend, Martin Friend, Nancy Held and Rachel Murphy.
Services will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, Allwood Road, Clifton, New Jersey on Tuesday, July 15 at 1 PM. Burial will take place at Menorah Cemetery, Clifton, New Jersey. Donations in memory of William would be appreciated to either the Daughters of Miriam, 155 Hazel Street, Clifton, New Jersey 07011 or the Clifton Jewish Center, 18 Delaware Street, Clifton, New Jersey 07011.
