Eugene Dubis

Eugene R., a lifelong resident of Wallington, died on March 7th, 2015, he was 80. Eugene was born in Clifton, NJ to Louis and Alexandra (Hamot) Dubis. He attended Wallington and East Rutherford H.S. and in 1954 he proudly joined the ranks of the United States Army, and was stationed in Germany. On February 19th, 1955 Eugene married Clementine Golebiesky at Holy Rosary Church in Passaic. He worked as a purchasing agent for Dumont Oscilloscope in Clifton, NJ and Paramatic Industries in Denville, NJ. Eugene was an avid fisherman, although in recent years he spent more time making fishing poles for his friends and family. His family remembers his claim to fame when he set the State Record for catching the largest Brown Trout in 1967. He enjoyed spending time at the summer house on Culver Lake with family, friends, and neighbors. There he was able to work on his fishing and boating skills. He was also an avid sports fan, watching his Yankees and Giants, and he enjoyed bowling. He had also been a CB'er and his handle was "Custom Rod." Eugene is survived by his beloved wife Clementine of 60 years, his son Chris Dubis, his daughter Sharon and her husband Myron Dabal, and his grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Breanna, Shane, Jon, and Samantha. He is also survived by his sister Arlene Partington of Clifton, and his Uncle Leo Dubis, nephews, nieces, and cousins. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Friday at Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 127 Paterson Ave, Wallington. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack.
