Louise C. Monaco Feb. 29, 1932 - Mar. 22, 2015 GALES FERRY - Louise C. Monaco, 83, of Old Quarry Rd., Gales Ferry, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 22, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Monaco was born on February 29, 1932 in Gloversville, NY the daughter of Joseph and Celia Visconti. She was the first of three children. After high school, she attended SUNY Plattsburgh where she received her RN. She married Daniel Monaco on June 7, 1958 and they settled in Gales Ferry, CT in 1963 where they raised their 5 children. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother and was dedicated to her faith in God. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and of The Ladies Guild there. Louise was a selfless, compassionate, resourceful, humorous, and intelligent woman. She was adored by many and will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by all those who had the honor and privilege of knowing her. Mrs. Monaco is survived by her husband Daniel Monaco of Gales Ferry, three daughters Mary Monaco of Fall River, MA, Ceci Iliff of Gales Ferry and Carolyn Bueno and her husband Steven of Norwich, two sons: Joseph Monaco and his wife Saramie of Los Angeles, CA and Lawrence Monaco and his wife Marcela of Elmhurst, IL; and 9 grandchildren: Daniel, Benjamin, and Sarah Iliff, Marcela, Rebecca and Stephanie Monaco, and Maria and Luisa Bueno and Jack David Lanohan. Also by a sister Marion DiGiacomo and her husband Vincent of Gloversville, NY and a brother Leo Visconti and his wife Carol of Johnstown, NY and many nieces and nephews. Donations in her memory can be made to the charity of the donor's choice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 12:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1650 Route 12, Gales Ferry. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015, from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London, CT 06320. I have known Joe, and your family, since 1st grade with Joe at Juliet W. Long Elementary School. Joe was, and remains to this day, one of my favorite people. I know how close your family is, and can only imagine how painful Louise's passing must be for the family, and the many others who love her. This photo was taken on 3/17/2014. Both you and my mother-in-law were still on this side of Heaven. Little did we know how our time left was so short. I am so grateful to have had the honor to be at both your bedsides when you slipped into eternity. Mom Bueno passed 03/23/14 and you followed almost a year to the day later 03/22/15. I talk to you daily now, mom and I know you hear me and that you are so close. There are so many difficult things to deal with but I feel your grounding wisdom and presence guiding me through it all. You are the most precious gift from God and I pray that I can honor you every day I have left. If I can be a fraction of the loving, devoted wife and mother you were to us, then I will have lived a full and blessed life. You are my forever LOVE! Rest in peace my "sweet" angel girl!
