Raymond Beausoleil Obituary

Raymond Beausoleil April 29, 1927 - May 7, 2011 Plainfield - Raymond Beausoleil, 84, formerly of Tarbox Road passed away at the Day Kimball hospital in Putnam on Saturday, May 7, 2011. He was born April 29, 1927 in Norwich, a son of the late Louis and Albina Lacasse Beausoleil. Ray was married to the love of his life, Marielle Gervais on May 17, 1947 in Plainfield with whom he had seven children. Marielle passed away on June 18, 1981. Ray was married to Louise Conrad Fogwell on October 18, 1991. Louise passed away on April 19, 2004. Mr. Beausoleil volunteered at age 17 and was a Navy veteran having served in England during World War II. He was a carpenter and cabinet maker by trade, having owned his own business, B & L Builders along with his partner and brother-in-law Larry Langlois. He also worked at Pervel Industries as a carpenter for many years until retirement. Ray was considered the family historian and had traced his family to France in the 1500's. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW of Plainfield. Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his Boston Red Sox and his country western music. He was pretty excited in 2004 when Boston won the World Series, something that he thought he might never see in his lifetime. Ray is pre-deceased by his brother Rev. Gerard Beausoleil and grandson Casey Beausoleil. He is survived by his sons; Roland and wife Sheri of Coventry; Raymond and wife Cathie of Plainfield; Dennis and wife Linda of Cocoa, FL, Gary and wife Mardee of Sterling; Vernon and wife Jen of Coventry; Byron and wife Susan of Plainfield; and daughter Diane Cogswell of Colorado Springs, CO. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; Jeffrey, Heather, Kevin, Rebecca, Michelle, Michael, Steven, Matthew, Danielle, Kyle, Jessica, Bradley and Rachel Beausoleil, Josh and Justin Cogswell and six great grand children; Marielle, Jeffrey and Olivia Beausoleil, Malika Painter, Kayla and Lucas Helferich and sister Claire Langlois of Plainfield. Four step grandchildren Bailey Ockington, Gabe and Ashley Tubman and Bethany Marion. Ray is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Apostle Church Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. Burial with military honors will follow in St. John Cemetery, Plainfield. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday 9-10:30 A.M. at Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home 595 Norwich Rd. Plainfield. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson's disease Assoc. 27 Allendale Drive N. Haven, CT. 06473.

We are so sorry to hear Of Rays Passing.I will miss my chats with Ray about Maine.He camped in Maine with his family not far from the town I came from.We have alot of good memories he has left us with and we will miss that. Our prayers go out to his family. God Bless..

We are sorry to hear of Rays death. He was alot of fun and often teased me about Maine as he use to camp there with his family. Not far from where I came from. I was so sorry to hear of Uncle Ray's death. He was a wonderful Uncle and friend and will be greatly missed. All the family picnics he arranged will forever be in my heart. My thoughts and prayers go out to my cousins and Beausoleil family. I loved him dearly.
