Robert Diquattro Obituary

REV. ROBERT E. DIQUATTRO 1943 - 2016
Woodstock - Rev. Robert E. DiQuattro, soulmate & partner of Betsy (Parcinski) DiQuattro, died November 6 at UMASS Medical Center. Bob had a lifelong passion for music. This passion started at an early age when he formed the Keystone Gospel Quartet touring the US and CA. In 1971, he moved to NYC and joined the King's Keynotes as the lead vocalist. During his 10 years in Manhattan, he started the Manhattan Project (Gospel Rock Group), sang at Carnegie Hall, recorded several albums, and received his bachelor's degree from College of New Rochelle. He went on to receive his Master's degree from Yale Divinity School. He was ordained into the United Church of Christ and served as pastor of the Federated Church of Christ in Brooklyn, CT for 10 years. He then served as a Spiritual Care Coordinator for Masonicare Hospice. In his retirement, he kept his ministry of music alive by entertaining seniors. Most recently, Bob was lead singer of "Green Valley" and took great pleasure in performing to a full house at the Vanilla Bean just 3 weeks ago. He will be remembered for the richness of his voice, the passion of his opinions and the gentleness of his spirit. First born son of Emmanuel & Frances DiQuattro on February 12, 1943 in Bristol, PA, Robert is survived by his wife Betsy, brothers, Joseph and James, by his son, Gordon, stepsons, Drew, Clark and Evan Sigfridson, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as dear friends, Tom and Andrea Hughes, The Daly Family and band members, Rich Young and Patricia McDonald.
He attended Quaker Meeting House, Storrs, Ct., served as a member of the Eastford Democratic Town Committee, Eastford Clean Energy Commission and the Eastford Zoning Board of Appeals. A celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm on December 17th at the main lodge of the 4-H camp in Pomfret, CT. Memorial Donations can be made to help preserve Bob's favorite place on earth, the Grand Canyon Association (www.grandcanyon.org). www.smithandwalkerfh.com

Dear Betsy and family,

Sarah Jo and I were shocked - and so sorry to learn of Bob's sudden passing. He was such a gentle soul, and an avid lover of music....and he used his musical gifts to bring comfort and joy to so many. He will be sorely missed. May you take comfort in the knowledge that he lives on through the lives of those he has affected...and there are many.

Betsy, & family. When I saw this I was frozen with shock. I am so sorry to see this news. Bob was a wonderful minister to me and my family. My mom Lucille Sorel loved both of you so much. She has since past on and I hope he has time to stop by and see her in heaven while he is singing with all the angels. Much love to you and all the family. Angela

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Bobby. I remember sitting in Aunt Franny and Uncle Manny's living room and listening to Bobby and his brothers sing so beautifully. I'm glad I had the opportunity to see him at Uncle Joe's and Aunt Sarah's birthday party. We shared many memories. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I have fond memories of the visits Bob and his parents and brothers made to our home as we were all growing up. Later, I very much enjoyed hearing him sing in the Keystone Quartet. In fact, the quartet sang at our wedding reception, and their performance was a highlight of the evening.
I am saddened by his passing.

The last time I heard his music was at the 4-H camp in the lodge.
I will miss the music, but most of all, I will miss him.

I am sad to see the loss on earth of such a wonderful man. He and my father met through Hospice and Bob gave my dad's last few months great joy. The two of them would sing, play the guitar and harmonica together and perform for the residents at the nursing facility. Bob went on to do my father's funeral service and I could never thank him enough for all he did for my family. I pray they are jammin' together now. I also pray for peace and comfort for Bob's family.

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of Bob. Though I only knew him for a short time I really enjoyed playing music with him and enjoyed his kindness. Prayers to his wife and family.

To his wife and family, I was so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I had the great pleasure of knowing him through his work on the nursing home circuit. He visited us often in Putnam and was a terrific entertainer and made the residents' day and mine with his music and his sharing of his stories and thoughtful words. He recently gave to me some very kind words when our facility closed not that long ago, which were so appreciated. I know he will be remembered by all who had contact with him and that is a very special legacy.

Bob was my closest childhood friend into adulthood. He and I along with brother Joe and Richard Sterban formed the original Keystone Quartet. Many memories will continue to live in my heart. Danny Sinacori

I had the great fortune to work with Bob both in the studio recording the Well Seasoned Up this Road and Down CD and performing with Bob a handful of times. I always enjoyed singing with him too. He had such a great voice. Above it all was a wonderful man who was full of love. He will be missed by anyone who had the chance to meet him. God bless.

Sincerest Condolences to Betsy and all the family.

I would meet Bob once a year at the Grey Fox BG festival, and we shared many belly laughs.

So very sorry to hear this.
