Leonard Rinker Obituary
A funeral service was conducted Monday, January 2, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at Stover Funeral Home, Strasburg with Rev. Louie Shafer officiating. Burial was in the Fishers Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Rinker was born July 28, 1947 in Shenandoah County, a son of the late Paul Irving and Ruth Catherine Grove Rinker.
He was a retired mechanic at Grubbs Chevrolet, Inc., Woodstock, a member of the Strasburg Moose Lodge No. 403, attended Strasburg High School and Round Hill Church Of The Brethren and was special Uncle Boo-Boo to Daniel and Joey Shoremount. Leonard was an avid hunter and sportsman and in his younger years he was a member of the Rinker No. 24 race car team.
Surviving are his two brothers, Tink and Peanut Rinker and Larry Rinker and wife, Carolyn, all of Toms Brook; his nieces and nephews, Robin Wilson and husband Gary and daughter, Kasey; Karen Moore and daughter, Amanda; David Rinker and Paul Rinker, Jr.; his special friends and caregivers, Paul and Tammy Shoremount and sons, Daniel and Joseph of Edinburg.
Pallbearers were Randy Wilkins, Allen Stead, Mike Rosenberger, Ricky Nugent, Daniel Shoremount and Joseph Shoremount.
The family received friends at Stover Funeral Home on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
