Leonard Newlin Obituary


Leonard Harris Newlin, 70, of Berryville, Virginia, died Friday, November 27, 2009 in the Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Newlin was born April 9, 1939 in Summit Point, West Virginia, the son of Lynwood Harris and Lena Love Newlin.

He retired from Holiday Tyler Graphics where he worked as a binder helper.

He had served in the National Guard.

He was a member of the Graphics Arts International Union.

He married Abigail Maria Kirby Newlin on September 27, 1958 in Berryville, Virginia. They celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on September 27, 2009.

Surviving with his wife, are 2 daughters, Alesia Lynn Newlin of Front Royal, VA and Annette F. Newlin-Berkeszi of Front Royal, VA; his cat, Toby Tyler Tobias who was his faithful companion for 19 years; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 3 step-grandchildren.

A daughter, Sharron Lyvonne Newlin Wright preceded him in death.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P. M. Monday, November 30, 2009 at Green Hill cemetery, Berryville, VA with Rev. Ken Patrick officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 P. M. Sunday afternoon at the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville, VA.

Memorial contributions may be made to John H. Enders Fire & Rescue, 9 S. Buckmarsh St., Berryville, VA 22611.

Arrangements are being handled by the Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville, VA.
