Benny Morrell Obituary
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles R. Morrell and Mary Ellen Miller Morrell of Hickory Tree, Tennessee.
He was a wonderful loving husband, great father, grandfather and brother who loved to golf, fish, garden and smoke cigars. A graduate of King College in Bristol, Tennessee, Benny served as executive director of the Virginia Onsite Waste Water Recycling Association (VOWRA); a member of Strasburg Rotary, and a member of Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church.
Survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Hazel Hewlett Morrell; a daughter, Virginia (Ginger) Ellen Beers and husband Bill of Inwood, WV; a son-in-law, Michael L. Rosenberger and grandson, Zachary Michael of Toms Brook; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Fleet of Strasburg; a son, Benjamin Charles Morrell, wife Connie and grandchildren Elise and Jacob of Toms Brook; a daughter, Mary Kaye Hausmann and husband Mike of Star Tannery; two brothers, Larry Morrell and wife Lynda, Rudy Morrell and wife Ann; two sisters, Lorraine Morrell Jones, and Nancy Morrell Arnold and husband, Clayton; a brother-in-law, Robert E. Hewlett; and several nieces and nephews who loved and admired their Uncle Benny.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 1:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m. at the Morrell home in Star Tannery, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Star Tannery Volunteer Fire Department, Star Tannery, Virginia and the National Rifle Association of America (NRA) at 11250 Waples Mill Road, Fairfax, VA 22030.
